Airlines Warn of the Impact 5G Interference Could Have on Flying


Major U.S. airlines and the FAA are urging Verizon and AT&T to delay rollout of 5G cell service, saying the signal could create costly air travel delays. The concern: 5G phone frequencies could possibly interfere with aircraft radio altimeters, which tell pilots how high off the ground a plane is. Phone carriers are set to roll out 5G within weeks and don’t appear likely to further delay things.
